HomeBancorp, Inc. with headquarters in downtown Tampa, Florida is the parent company of HomeBanc N.A., a nationally chartered de novo bank based in Lake Mary, Florida.

At first look, HomeBancorp appears to be like any of the 450 different banking companies operating in the State of Florida. But, first impressions can be misleading.

First, consider our lineage. HomeBancorp, Inc. was founded by one of the most successful bankers and entrepreneurs in the United States. Jerry Campbell is known in the banking industry as being an innovator and pioneer. He began Republic Bancorp in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1986 with a single location. He grew the company to more than 92 Republic Bank retail, commercial and mortgage banking offices in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana with assets in excess of $6.5 billion, and merged the company with Michigan-based Citizens Bancorp in 2006. Campbell, who has owned a home in Clearwater, Florida for 15 years and is now a full-time resident, wanted to build his next banking company in the Sunshine State.
